A little bit stressed

After three weeks of going back to college, suddenly all the work is piling up. I'm reading three books, doing 'mini-essays' here, there and everywhere; and 10 page pieces of coursework's deadlines are only in two days!

I need to calm it, Kermit. I feel a bit all over the place: I still feel really ill and not quite right. I'm blundering through all my lessons and just about sticking to homework due dates. I just feel so tired. Gawd almighty - it must be winter!

I'm just looking forward to the weekend. To relax. I'm only 17 and seem to have a very hectic life. [Which is, by the way, not what my sister thinks: "Wait til you get in the REAL world, Madison..."] But talking of Brooke, yesterday my 21 year old sister came home from work and stated that she already had my christmas present. She said it was expensive and I would love it. I instantly asked:
"Tickets to America?"
To which that got a snort, rolling of eyes and a statement of: "Not that expensive!"
Well, a girl can keep on dreaming...

So, the next big thing: Halloween!! What's everyone got planned? My friend Dawn has a second home near the sea front, so we're hoping that we'll be able to have a spooky sleepover round there. All she needs is the permission of her Minister Halloween-hating mother. Hmm.

PS, don't forgot to enter this week's competition!! See the post below ;)

Competition Time!

Photobucket
** As long as you have a blogspot account and you follow me via that I can contact you through there so don't worry ;) **

So whilst I am slowly getting better from my horrible cold I have achieved two things today. Firstly - another competition; secondly bought something on eBay for Dawn's pink party. It's a really nice pink shiny top, and you'll just have to be patient for 20th December to see it. (I know, I know, it is so far ahead but I like to be organised.)

Just found out via email today that I have literature homework due in tomorrow, so have to do that still. I also still haven't had any advice on my English Language coursework, which means I have only done a paragraph. The first draft = due in next week. Eeek, much?

So well done Leah!!

I will get in contact with you shortly.

Meanwhile, I am afraid that I am really rather ill at the moment. Anyone got the cure for the commmon cold yet? All I need is a little rest, so will get back to blogging properly soon, and will even set another competition!!

If I were rich...

I'd buy a hell of a lot!!

PS. Thank you all for helping me to try and find something that is pink to wear for Dawn's party. It's been really helpful. Am going London tomorrow, so will look out for some stuff there :)

Lots of Birthday Invitations

Today I recieved two birthday invites: one for Dawn's party and one for Kirsty's [or at least I think so: Kirsty I think you sent it to my mum by mistake. I took it that it was meant for me, right?]

I'm excited for both - for both 18ths we are going in a limo up to London. Two limos in two months: not bad right?

There's only one problem, and that's with Dawn's party. Her theme is 'pink' and we have to wear accordingly. And guess what?

Yup, I know, how awkward am I? But I tend to stick to my favourite black clothing. Looking at my wardrobe is like looking into a black hole. My favourite colour is red, I think it suits me, and there are an assortment of different colours in there. But I don't wear pink.

So now I'm struggling to find a dress that is pink and that I'm going to wear again. Something that isn't too nauseating but still consists of something that actually is pink. I need help.

As you all know I am a HUGE fan of Zooey Deschanel, and I especially love her fashion. But it seems she shares my aversion to the difficult colour too:

However, I did find this one outfit in which she wears pink and LOVE it:

Ahh, has anyone seen anything similar anywhere?

Currently-

I am a little annoyed with college.

Ok, by a little I mean a lot. I have four different classes in my week and out of all of them I am only enjoying one of them. One of the classes I have had no help in and been left to do NOTHING; another there is too many idiots and not enough villages; and the last one is a little bit pointless.

Also, found out cannot afford to go on holiday with my friends next year :(.

But with all this, at least:
- I love one of my lessons
- I have quite a good time table layout [meaning I don't have to go in til 12 on 3 out of 5 days...]
- I have hilarious friends that break up the day by being generally funny at lunch
- We are planning to go Glastonbury next year
- I think I am finally sorting my future out.

So I encourage you to look at that glass of water in your hand and see it as half full and not half empty.

Plus, if you really wanna be cheered up enter my competition to wear a pair of wayfarer sunglasses. Go to the previous post and comment before Saturday.

Happy Tuesday people.

Strike A Pose.

This was a while a back now but I just loved this party and couldn't miss out on sharing the awesome photos with you!

I had such a great time! It was a surprise 40th Birthday party for my Dad's cousin Karen and she was so shocked! Kirsty and I were the first on the dance floor with our official dance moves (ie Vogue, Robot, Llama, repeat). Even Karen's husband Simon came up to us and said: "If I don't speak to you two again tonight, I'd just like to thank you for getting everyody dancing!". Why thank you, we do try.

It was an incredibly good night, but I wish people had dressed up more - there was only about 40% in 80's outfit. Um, hello? It's a fancy dress party. Don't be rude and wear a green t shirt and jeans.

Urgh.

But on a lighter note - ooooooooooooooh I wanna dance with somebody!!

So I say Thank You for the-

Thank you There's No Such Thing as Perfect for the Kreativ Blogger award. Wow, I guess I'd better
complete the questions...

7 things you don't know about me...

1. When I was younger I kept changing my mind about what I wanted to be when I grew up, but the main ones were: comedian, detective, and magician! So I put that altogether and now want to be: a writer. Yup, I know.

2. I have celebrity contacts in my phone. Which is kind of a lie - i've used code words for all my friends just to confuse people. For example, Kirsty is George Lamb in my phone, Debra is Mighty Huntress, Ambra is Champ Ambra etc etc.

3. I want to be an American. I have an obsession with America, just as some Americans have an obsession with London. Ever since going on holiday 3 times to the States I have wanted to live there. One day I'll get there...

4. Ok, this is the one I always use in them stupid 'let's get to know eachother' tasks at college: I was named after a mermaid. Madison? As in Splash? I only found out the other day that Madison wasn't considered a feminine name until Daryl Hannah's character decided to look at a street sign and choose the absolutely brilliant name of Madison.

5. I refuse to accept that I my eye sight is slowly deteriorating. Ok, that's a little dramatic but still - it's all blurry 5 metres in front of me. Yes I have glasses, and yes they give me perfect sight. But do I like wearing them? Noooo.

6. Out of all my family, apparently I am the Clever One. Haha, said by my ten year old cousin: "When I go round Tracy's, I'm going to ask Madison to help me with my algebra - she's the only clever one in this family..." I'm flattered!

7. I'm destined to be famous... Please don't get me wrong (ie the name of this blog) I'm not some fame hungry teen. I'd just like a lot of people to read my writing and be inspired. Anyway, in primary school my head teacher told me that I'd be: "The famous Madison G..."

Anyway enough about me: I pass this lovely award (in no particular order, 'cause you're all awesome) on to the following very talented bloggers -

Sally Jane Vintage

All this happiness

Le Love

Think someone you know deserves this award too?

Oddest Thing Of the Week...

The David Bowie Night Light!!

This is just a little bit awesome. If only this was around when I was younger :(. I seem to have neglected my love of Bowie in favour of The Beatles at the moment, so this is for the continued appreciation of his magical music - I haven't forgot you Bowie!

[by the way I'm sorry I haven't been blogging as much - college just sweeps you up and makes any time for being creative disappear! Next week I'll be back properly, as I get used to my timetable...]

Madi's Mahoosive Clear Out

I'm sick of my clothes. So I'm getting rid of them. 10 items a day til I can afford a new wardrobe. Take your pick here.

Photobucket

Don't forget to enter the mini competition - the prize for this is for me to do a blog entry about your blog! However, if this is popular enough I will be giving away an actual brilliant object next time. You have til wednesday.

worrying thought:I've had two dreams now where I have been with my friends and we're just about to get the train somewhere. But I know that the particular train we're about to get on is going to blow up, so I persuade them to grab the next one. Each time I save my friends and myself only, and watch as others around get on the train. Each time the train blows up. I've been somewhere different in both dreams, with different scenarios [ie the first time I was told by someone, the second time I 'had a feeling' and my friends believed me].

What does this mean? I've tried to disect it myself - maybe I subconsiously want to save my friends and I from doing something, because it's been bad for other people? I don't know... give me your thoughts.

In love with life

Sometimes I am so happy with life. It is so simple and incredible and beautiful. I love the feeling of being alive, and having the freedom to do absolutely anything. My dad once said to me: "Achieve the impossible."

And you know what? I think I will.

Holy Shitzu, what colour are Ambra's eyes?!

All of last night and continuing today I have been photoshopping for my little project (sssh Kirsty). Ambra is the main photo for this project and I was busy youtubing tutorials all night to get the perfect image.

Then this morning I looked at the photoshopped image I'd worked on all night and thought something looked quiet funny with Ambra. Observe:

Now if you know her, or have seen her in some of my photos already, you'll realise that her EYES AREN'T GREEN. I couldn't believe I'd made such a fatal mistake! I cursed myself for working when I was tired.

I figured out the problem though - when I was brightening her eyes I had to zoom in a LOT and the photo became a little pixelated. All I could see was a black pupil and then a fleck of green so for some reason assumed this was the colour of her eyes. Sorely wrong - they're brown.

Grr so all that work had gone to waste, but at least I'd realised my mistake before it was too late. Sorry Ambra - your eyes are obviously brown.

And this got me thinking - everybody's eyes are a mix of different colours, so I'm not such a tired idiot! I always thought my eyes were pure blue, but other's say grey and then on holiday I was told green! Noo, not green - that's my sister's eye colour. Ahhh! Run!!

So here's a contest for you:
Describe your eye colour WITHOUT using the name of a colour. E.g. my eye colour is: Ocean Fizz. Be as creative as you can and the person who is most creative I will do a blog entry on their blog. Open today until Wednesday!

Five for Friday

Inspired by www.chronicallyvintage.com - Five for Friday. Not only is it alliterative, but it also gets my latest obsessions of my chest!

1. Adventureland
I've watched some clips on youtube and just find it fascinating for some reason. I really want to see it. I think it's my interest with the not-so-distant past, whether it be how they acted, what they wore or what they did. I'm also a sucker for an independent film.
___________________________________________________

2. College Clothing
If only Forever 21 didn't have ridiculous postage charges to the UK...
___________________________________________________

3. Lemon Curd
With toast. The newest fashion in breakfast - totally surpassing banana's on toast.
___________________________________________________

4. Jamie Oliver's American Roadtrip
Ahh, my obsession with America is quenched with this little cookery programme. Sure Jamie Oliver annoys me a bit, but he inspired me to get his book to learn to cook. I just need to open it and soon 'creative culinary skills' can be added to my resume.

5. Knee High Socks
Cos sometimes you just wanna geek out.
