Legendary Night

Greg invited us to his house for a party because his parents were away and it was SUCH a fun night :). We danced, we sang, we helped bully a smoker [ok, admittedly I was the one who stamped on his cigarette... but I saved a life, right?] ...

Overall, these photos say it all:

[This is the guy whose house it was. Sorry not very good english haha]

Getting chucked out of a cinema...

Wowee have I been busy! Back to college and thankfully I have half term next week, in which I think I totally deserve it.

On Friday, Kirsty, Ambra, Sophie and I met up with some of the boys they know at college to go see Zombieland. All the guys seem really cool, though us girls were a bit outnumbered [ie 3 girls: 6 boys] but it was a really hilarious night. There was one thing that really annoyed me though: never in my life have the people at the cinema checked my ticket whilst I'm watching the film. I don't know about you but once I'm in I just chuck it at the bottom of the bag and forget about it. Well, suddenly this security guard came up to us and was like:

"Everyone get your tickets out."

Mass panic as we scrambled around in the dark trying to find our tickets. Trust me and Kirsty to have lost ours. We had to go through the embarrassment of walking out of the cinema, down the escalator to the busy cashier desk and the security dude asked the girl if she remembered serving us. Being an idiot she said no. [Totally unfair - if I was working there I would think, Man that has to be cringey and they look like alright girls; I'll just say yes...] Then the security guard patronisingly put a hand on Kirsty's shoulder:
"You seem like nice girls, did you honestly buy a ticket?" To which we irritatedly said yes! I could not believe it - we'd missed at least twenty minutes of the film, had been publicly humiliated and then didn't get an apology. Unfortunately a little too late we both found our tickets after the security guy sauntered off.

However, the night ended well as we went round one of the guys house and laughed a lot (especially kirsty). Phew, what a night!

On Saturday Kirsty and I went to Camden. We both love it there, though haven't been there in ages - not since that fire burnt down the market. I bought a lovely bangle and Kirsty bought a purse and hat. It was incredibly funny, and we made a movie, I just haven't got round to editing it yet, but will show you soon!

After our trip up London, Kirsty came back to mine and we had pizza and laughed hysterically over who knows what! It was sooo funny. We Facebook-stalked; youtubed Kyle (See below); went on webcam to Amy; sung our hearts out to online Karaoke and generally tackled each other to ruin one another's facebook, depending on who was logged on at the time...

Fun times but back to reality: have a media project to get on with and English coursework to finish.

Au Revoir Senoritas!

Have had such a busy week! Went round Kirsty's yesterday and it was hilarious. We spent pretty much the whole day on the laptop looking at funny videos/ dribbling over celeb crushes (btw have found a replacement for Topher Grace - Kyle Gallner. :p) We ate chocolate muffins and then tried to take a photo of ourselves doing a Herbal Essences hair flip. Don't ask why - I don't even know!

Tomorrow all us lucky ladies at college get our HPV jabs. Yay! Injections. Not. I'm ok with needles etc; it's just the waiting around for it that I hate.

Ooh, and I have decided to get a fringe. I know, I know. I'll probably grow it out, but what the hell - you only live once, right? [Ok, don't really know how this justifies why I should get a haircut, but whatever...] Will take some photos after Thursday to show you how it turns out (fingers crossed).

On a side note, am currently watching this:

Now I usually love College Humor. But this is just harsh (still made me laugh though!)

I'll be there for you

Yesterday I had a really great day with the family. Me, my sister, her boyfriend, my parents and my grandparents set off early on the train up to taste a little New York in London...

After an hour and a half (!) of queueing outside the infamous coffee shop, we finally entered the legendary Central Perk. I loved it!! It was a precise replica of the one in New York and I got a Moccachino. I had my first ever coffee in Central Perk - how brilliant is that statement? All the props (e.g. the Turkey head that Joey/ Monica wore; Mock-o-late that Monica had to try and come up with a new recipe; the list for choosing Rachel by Ross; Rachel's bridesmaid dress etc) were in glass cabinets to stare in wonder at.

It was really only me, Brooke and Paul who could appreciate it fully - being crazy Friends fans. Yet we all had a brilliant time - especially sitting on the orange couch which you just *sunk* in to. Totally want to buy a replica when I'm older!

Once leaving the cosy cafe and being brought back to reality via the cold weather, we cruised down Carnaby Street and walked up to this Starbucks stall that were giving out free coffees and muffins!! Absolute heaven. Grabbed a GIANT blueberry muffin (my second ever, totally in love with them now), I relaxed on my cab home and munched...

Haha only joking - this cab was unfortunately not my ride home, instead it was next to the stall to advertise the New York Swap. Apparently this month, New York and London are swapping shops in the form of Pop-up shops so you can taste a little bit of the famous cities on opposite sides of the world... am totally going back. [Am sorry - am still totally impressed by the free muffin.]

We dawdled on to the Back Show. Doesn't sound as fun, right? We almost nabbed a free massage but other than that we tried not to get coaxed into a half hour sales pitch by all the assistants. [Thankfully we managed to find a way to sort my back out. Can't remember what it's called but am booking an appointment. Just in case you didn't know I have mild scoliosis of the spine + hypermobility. Which basically equals a back that gets sore quickly and clicks a lot!]

Our last stop was a trip to the Museum of Childhood, which was a lot of fun as me and Brooke looked at all the old toys we used to have. Also, there was a punch and judy theatre you could step in, some crazy mirrors, a jukebox and a wooden police car! A lot of fun.

Had a really great day, and already I want to go back to Central Perk [btw if you live in London there's only 3 days left of it and then it shuts so get there quick!]. Although I would much prefer to go to the one in New York. *Sigh*...

Currently-

I am a little annoyed with college.

Ok, by a little I mean a lot. I have four different classes in my week and out of all of them I am only enjoying one of them. One of the classes I have had no help in and been left to do NOTHING; another there is too many idiots and not enough villages; and the last one is a little bit pointless.

Also, found out cannot afford to go on holiday with my friends next year :(.

But with all this, at least:
- I love one of my lessons
- I have quite a good time table layout [meaning I don't have to go in til 12 on 3 out of 5 days...]
- I have hilarious friends that break up the day by being generally funny at lunch
- We are planning to go Glastonbury next year
- I think I am finally sorting my future out.

So I encourage you to look at that glass of water in your hand and see it as half full and not half empty.

Plus, if you really wanna be cheered up enter my competition to wear a pair of wayfarer sunglasses. Go to the previous post and comment before Saturday.

Happy Tuesday people.

Desperately Seeking Costume

Photobucket

Has anyone seen Desperately Seeking Susan? I really love it - and only got introduced to the film when researching what outfit I could have for the 80's party I'm going to soon. I totally fell in love with the costume and decided to buy the DVD to get more inspiration. It's one of my favourite films now, just because Madonna is so great in it and it has a great storyline. The film made me want to be all carefree like Madonna's character Susan is, and the costumes are gorgeous :)

So anyways I decided to dress like her character for the party and have been trying to find bits and pieces for my outfit. Today I found a perfect white dress in a store that was closing down - only £8! I have everything off the above list now minus the leggings and beads which I'll get tomorrow [trust me - I have the 'tude. The outfit feels so great already, even if I am missing a few bits!] In two weeks I'll post photos of me in my full outfit, and Kirsty too - who is going as a FAME girl (very appropriate with the new film coming out).

Yesterday I went shopping avec Kirsty, and today I went shopping avec Lauren. My bank balance is soooo low - haven't stopped ebaying for the past three days! Lauren and I also went to see The Time Travellers Wife. I started to read the book a few weeks ago, but I decided to do something I have never done before: waited for the film to come out. It wasn't that the book wasn't good, it was. But for once the film looked exactly like the book. Anyway, now I'm engrossed with the fantastic book Thanks for the Memories by Cecelia Ahern. Love her books!! Oh, and by the way GO SEE THE FILM - the Time Travellors wife is a tear jerker but a must see (I managed to stay dry eyed because of the full commitment I had to my non-waterproof heavy eye make-up.)

Tomorrow it's off to see Evita.

Don't cry for me Argentina...!

Kirsty is going to actually kill me after this but...

I had the most random day yesterday avec Kirsty and Ambra. First me and Lamb 1 went to Sainsburys and decided our lunch was going to be uber [note - do people still use that word... or should it stay in the 90's?] healthy. So we picked a vegetable pizza, a salad (which in the end had VERY weird crutons in it) and a fruit salad. It only cost us about £2.30 each! Woop for cheap supermarket food.

After cooking (mostly Kirsty) and Ambra arriving we spent the best part of 5 hours on the internet and laughing like maniacs. Then, whilst having dinner we watched She's the Man. [incidently, if anyone wants this film renacted Ambra and Kirsty are the ones to call - they know EVERY line!! haha, in the end I learnt one - 'naked!'. Yay I feel special]. Then suddenly Kirsty states:

"Why don't we renact the film?" After me and Ambra swap confused glances she continues: "I don't mind being made into a man." You didn't have to tell us twice!! We tackled her into a chair and dressed her as a man. And then, feeling a little left out in the makeover stakes Kirsty then cried: " Let's all have make-overs." Ambra got turned into a Goth haha. [I do NOT know what Kirsty was trying to do - I had the right side of her face and was trying to make it 'pretty goth'. Then Kirsty comes along with the eyeshadow and literally drops the pot on half of ambra's face. So then I decided to write EMO on her forehead.]

Then it was my turn. These two girls should NEVER N E V E R N-E-V-E-R become make-up artists. As ambra stabbed me to death in the eye with mascara, Kirsty took it apon herself to make me into a CHAV. And then Ambra joined in. I don't think I have ever had that much make-up on in my life. Stuffing a pillow up my top and using Kirsty's hats for boobs, I was ready for photos. NEVER show these to anybody important people...

"Better go get your Llama, get your llama, get your llama, get your Llama". Listen to Battlefield by Jordin Sparks and you'll get this joke.

I've had a

fantastic past two days :)

Yesterday was Debra and Ambra's joint birthday party at TGIF's in London. It was SUCH a hilarious night (me and Kirsty got a teensy bit hyper). It was such a good night (anyone remember Mexicanwave-powerpunch-mime-vogue it!) I couldn't stop laughing!

And then today was our results day for AS Levels (half an A level - so our overall mark isn't til next year).. I'm pretty happy with my results:
Media = A
English Language = B
Sociology (urgh) = B
and English Literature = C (i'm kinda disappointed in this... I was predicted an A and this is the subject I put most work into :( I also really enjoy it so TONGUES OUT TO THE SOCIOLOGY DEPARTMENT - am taking this next year :) even if I did get a better result in Sociology). All my friends did exceptionally well - very proud of them all :)

After the pressure of waiting for our results we went to the cutest lil park ever and had a picnic. It was so cute and delicious (salmon sandwiches, mum's cupcakes, chocolate from Kirsty, muffins from Dawn, cookies from Debra. Anyone say yum?)

Oh, and as you know, my mum is becoming quite the business woman with her cake business. So I have designed her lil business card:

[and she got two orders tonight alone! Currently she is working on a wrestling cake and an Alice in Wonderland cake.]

New favourite sport: star gazing...

I've had a truly magnificent week... But let me give you a catch-up of what I haven't blogged about yet... Thursday: MEOW! Kirsty, Debra and myself went to London (I know, again) and had a great day. We were going to go to Portobello market but were embarrassed to see that it wasn't actually on. I feel we subtly got out of the situation by doing a sharp turn back to the station. We had a picnic in the sunny St James Park, visited some soldiers at Buckingham Palace for Kirsty, went to Covent Garden and generally shopped... Friday: I'm starting a project this month which will be revealed shortly (sssh Kirsty - it's a secret :), and for the project I did a photoshoot avec Ambra. See a sample of the photos I took below. The best are kept for the project. On this note would just like to wish Ambra a HAPPY BIRTHDAY, as she is 17 today! [Thanks to Dawn, Debra and Kirsty for being my helpers for the day... but they didn't get nothing for their work - have an eyeball at the cupcakes my mum made for us!] For the shoot, I used my Grandads super groovy expensive and brilliant camera, and got all artsy with the butterflies...[I took over 50] and my friends... Saturday afternoon/evening Kirsty came round and as we had the house to ourselves cooked some dinner. We got hungry after gossiping in the garden in the sunshine and decided to create a pizza. After getting very confused with the base mix, suddenly Kirsty was kneading away at the dough like she'd been doing it all her life. We guesstimated (correctly) the oven and crap and soon were decorating the pizza with tomato puree, lots of cheese (which melted easily because we forgot to let it cool after it came out the oven. Woops), slices of tomato and DELICIOUS mozzarella. We forgot to read the instructions again as it said you had to have all the toppings away from the edge, so we got major meltage... I think we needed to have rolled out the dough more as well as the toppings were piled quite high. I totally misjudged the time to cook the pizza so we ended up having cold pasta as well. Oh, AND I forgot that the grated cheese was meant for the pasta as well as the pizza, so I cut a cheese slice into bits and put it on top of the pizza... And you know what? It was delicious! Well done to me and Kirsty for surviving on our own. Whilst watching Stuck on You, we decided to play a really dated board game... Just Seventeen Kiss Chase, to see who our dates would have been in 1995...

It was actually pretty hilarious in the end, as we made up our own theme tune for all of the cards "Uh-ooooh!" and "It's question timeee!".

It was a beautiful evening so went into the garden and played Badminton whilst singing, making up own lyrics and then played Croquet. Which turned into an assault course ('James Bonding' it over the sunbed, high knees, jump, pose for the camera, throw pegs, sunbathe, jump and then High Five...). It was so fun and funny!!! Haha, that doesn't make sense but you get what I mean.

It had suddenly turned dark and so we lay on the sunbeds and gazed up into the sky. After having a toilet break and getting some jumpers ("Lamb 1! Lamb 1! Meet back in the garden!") we pushed the sunbeds to the back of the garden, and truly stargazed as it was almost pitch black in the garden. We played the game: "I've never..." [e.g. the example was "I've never fancied a ginger." which is of course "False!". Rupert Grint fan, remember?]. It was a brilliant night (not without drama - we ran out the front as I had spotted a Flare go up in the sky a few streets back, closely followed by a fire engine, police cars and helicopters!! Never found out the real story...) and it was such a perfect 'summer' night.

Sorry for such the long post but so much as happened!! haha :)
